Out of context yet familiar. Like an exotic receptionist spotted walking down 6th Avenue. You can’t remember where she sits, where you’ve seen her. Was it a dream or was it just last week? You’re on a one-way street but you want to think it goes both ways and left lasting impressions on each of you, not just you. Like a chair-shaped ass on an ass-shaped chair. Meant to be. Fit like a glove. Hand in hand over fist.

back to the grind, back to so-called reality, back to work, back to school, back to basics, back in the High Life 12oz cans.
back to back to back

 What happens when
your local malt liquor mart
gets gentrified…?

Mom & Pop, corner store, bodega
Not just a facelift, a complete
boob job and clientele augmentation

From Big Bears to Belgian big beers
From Rainier tall boys to Euro choir boys
There’s a new sheriff in town and
he just bought a condo and drinks Amstel Light

it still has the old old school coolers full of cheap beer but a new wall of new coolers full of higher price stuff and now the building is getting a face lift, new windows etc.

I lived right next to my corner store in San Francisco for a while. Sketchy place: torturous sounds from their cellar, mean pit bulls and even the owner's teenage son being kidnapped at one point. He returned but stopped working there. Anyway, it burned down along with the apartment I lived in (about a month after I moved) and was rebuilt as small, ugly and expensive condos. From 40's of Colt 45 to $400,000 lofts. Forget where I bought my whiskey after that. Sorry about your juice joint, Pilder.

word. I'm a big fan of Bensons, it's on my line and I like to keep an eye on it and keep them in business. This gentrification thing is all around everywhere...except maybe Detroit. Colt 45 and $400,000. Cheers

My two favorite beer shops in Seattle were Bensons and Summit Foods. I miss them both, but thankfully I've got Sellwood Market. Getting used to a new city is weird, but it's nice having the beer situation handled.

Oh, tell me that the vague smell of piss has not been removed from that one spot, I forget which, I was half-drunk and jet legged at the time. Anyway it was -16 on the ride home from the 99501, that's so, late nineties. Kirk
