cold, lonely, long, slow, no-work work day in honor of MLK

the Coliseum Theater is one of the finest examples of Tera Cotta Seattle

three faceless women

if you call yourself a photographer

Does that mean you need to be proactive and seek out subject matter, to actively seek photos, to hire models, to play the part, to walk the walk, to fill out the empty promises?

If you don’t call yourself anything

Does that mean you can sit in a chair on a really cold day and drink cold beer and wait for the photos to come to you?

look up, look down, look out, look all around

If you're working all day, but not really working, is it still work? If you take photographs, you are a photographer. As long as we don't put good or professional in front of photographer, neither of us have anything to worry about. If it's a "work" day with no "work" to do, is it better to sit on a chair on a really cold day in front of an espresso stand snapping pictures of things and people surrounding you while drinking beer, or is it better to sit on your couch all day on morphine answering Defendant's First Interrogatories because you have to get them in the mail the next day?

Hey Kevin. I was on the clock for 7 hours on MLK day, attempted to pick up one job and attempted to deliver returns to about 12 clients, but only 3 of them were open. So I did about 30 minutes of "work". I took lots of photos and watched Cory climb on that John Deere a few times. But I budgeted my money well. On Veterans day I spent twice as much money on "lunch" than I made working. I hope you get those roggs in the mail today.

Got 'em in the mail at about 16:00. I might have worked more than anyone on MLK day. (12 hours?) Maybe I'll even get paid for that work, one day, in a year or two.

Where to start. My favorite no-work workday Alaska Day State Court closed Feds open. My best Veterans day 2006 because I got to go to an after-work thing in your town, spent thirty (or more it got a little blurry) on beer for the party but was treated to a nice cigar and enjoyed spending time smoking, drinking and hanging with other messengers. My total gain priceless. Kevin, best wishes for a speedy recovery and more than just compensation. Mr. Pilder, loved the photos and speaking of cold beers I might be in town sometime before Marh 15, let's go drink some then?

too drunk to drive a dump truck is drunk. But you'd still be sober enough to drive a Washington State Ferry boat into the pier at full speed, still sober enough to drive a freight train across Montana at 90 mph, still sober enough be a night watchman in a large office building. Milwakee's Best...we'll have a beer, and when Mr. Dungan is in town we'll all have a beer and you two can talk about studded tires and riding road bikes in the snow.
