just so we're clear on this...I'd ride the shit out of this bike until it fell apart and I'd keep the thumb shifters on a flat bar and cutoff the Dockers above the knee

those are official Schwinn issue grips, grips you call sparkle, grips I call rootbeer brown glitter. Just like the sky-blue ones that were on my first Stingray. Just like the pea-picker green ones that now ride on my coaster-brake bike and just like the violet ones on Najwa's work bike.
