This is the latest iteration of knobs on the little free library.
only three in-situ ingredients:
Gary Fisher top caps (black + silver)
bottom bracket cups
sheetrock screws
I had the chance to use big headset spacers with the top caps. They fit together exactly like they’re designed to. But they’re smooth, too smooth. The bottom bracket cups are threaded with a nice lip. Grippy grip on the finger tip. Bike parts taken out of context and put back into the context of knobs on the doors of a little free library.
This LFL has been kicking for 5+ years. You could call it orange but Benjamin Moore calls it “steelhead”. A couple weeks ago I repainted it steelhead orange.
This was a chore because the can of paint was not ready to open after sitting in the garage for 5 years since the last time I painted it. The lid completely rusted and fused to the can. I had to destroy it to extract the paint and slather a few fresh coats upon the exterior.
all work and no play is no good at
