Originally it read “she’s like that with everybody” then someone put her in the past tense, tagged on the utility building out behind the Hugo House when it was in the old haunted funeral home at 11th & Olive. And she was. Very past tense. As the Hugo House is now housed in a 5-story apartment building on the same site. I cannot afford to take classes there anymore. I sold that CETMA rack to 25, but I’m still riding that SOMA. Toothaker knows she was like that with everybody.

Ode to the payphone, cheap beer, cheap coffee, cheap rent, Capitol Hill actually being cool, affordable writing classes at Hugo House and bike messengers schlepping endless piles of architectural plans that were actually printed on paper
