In 1994 in D.C I had a Zo bag, a pager, and a Motorola radio similar in size to a 2lb block of Tillamook cheese. Lots of asking to borrow the phone at picks and drops because the radio reception was sketchy in certain buildings. A somewhat crude system in many ways but it got the job done, mostly.
